Session 2009-20010

The school is rightly proud of the incredible amount of extra-curricular activity that it offers pupils during the academic year. “Learning beyond the classroom” is a vital part of the School’s “Curriculum for Excellence”. As Rector, I would hope that all parents/carers will encourage their children to become involved in the sporting, musical, cultural and academic programmes on offer from our highly committed and professional staff.

There are also Senior School Committees and Senior School Service, including Duke of Edinburgh Award, which is included as an option in the Senior School Curriculum and also Global Ambition International Programmes organised and running this session.

Mr. A. Williamson

Sports and Physical Activities

In partnership with interested coaches and parents, the school staff organise a wide range of sporting extra-curricular activities. Rugby, Hockey, Football, Dance, Cricket, Volleyball, Athletics, Golf, Tennis, Badminton. Details of these clubs will be announced in the daily bulletin at the start of term. In addition to these school-based activities, an ‘Active Schools’ Programme is also in operation at Hawick High School where other activities are offered by invited coaches. As part of Active Schools and Sports Development, Easter and Summer Programmes are organised for primary and secondary pupils. These will be advertised through leaflets, posters and notices in the pupil bulletin.
