HAWICK HIGH SCHOOL DAILY BULLETIN Weekly Bulletin for Monday 28th September 2009 | ALL PUPILS | | FANTASY FOOTBALL LEAGUE Fantasy Football League is here. The new season of the Schools Fantasy Football League begins on 17 October. That means we need to register teams by the October break. Any pupil or member of staff can take part in the League. We compete against each other's teams and against other schools. The more teams we get, the more prizes we qualify for. Registration for teams will take place on Wednesday, 30 September at 1.30 pm in Room M1. The entry fee this year is £3.50. Please bring your fee with you when you register. If you want to know more about Schools fantasy Football, you can visit the website (www.schoolsfl.com). Information leaflets are also available from the Pupil Office. A Cumming/R Booles YOUNG CARERS LUNCH GROUP All young carers are invited to join a lunch time group on Friday 2nd October in L4 from 1.00pm to 1.50pm. All welcome, please come along. S Lockett RUSSIAN CLUB The Russian Club takes place on Thursday lunchtime from 1.10pm in D9. Bring your lunch and curiosity along. The Russian Club celebrates the arrival of its iconic tea urn. Come and see this marvellous object and taste the Russian tea it makes. All welcome! Mrs Lobont DROP-IN The drop-in is cancelled this Wednesday. Pupils can contact us on the telephone number on the medical room door if they have any urgent issues. The school nurses will be running a drop-in over lunchtime from 1.00pm – 1.45pm on Wednesday. We offer confidential help and advice for all pupils. Come alone or bring a friend. J Woods/P Drysdale | | S1/S2 | | S1/2 JUNIOR MATHS CLUB Stuck with your equations? Having no fun in getting your angles add up. Stuck with that elusive last question? Don't worry. Help is at hand at the Junior Maths Club. Every Tuesday lunchtime in M11a (Mr Call's room). J Sutherland S1/S2 GERMAN EXCHANGE In our partner school in the Black Forest, more than 50 young people are waiting anxiously and hopefully to hear if they might be taking part in their School Exchange to Hawick in April 2010. Unfortunately, unless more Hawick pupils decide to take part, there is absolutely no chance of any Exchange next year. This would be very sad for the German pupils, for those HHS pupils who have signed up, and for both schools. The Exchange has been running successfully for 20 years, but it needs around 35 pupils to make it possible. If you are considering taking part, please let either Mrs Hamilton or Mr Letham know immediately. The price is £280, all inclusive, which is a tremendous bargain - and is open to ALL pupils, irrespective of which language they learn. The absolute deadline is the 9th of October; if we have less than 35 by that date then, sadly, we cannot go ahead.
